February 25, 2012 IKC Chicago Regional Specialty. We brought 3 generations to the show this year: Helen as a Veteran, son Cuervo and granddaughter Velma in Best of Breed. In addition, Sawyer - another Helen son - was also competing for Best of Breed.
Helen was on first and showed beautifully. We heard comments that she looked/acted too young to be a Veteran:) She took 2nd in the 7-9 year class to the eventual Best Veteran.
In the Breed, both Sawyer (at 18 mos!) and Cuervo made the first cut out of a field of 14 dog Specials. Cuervo stayed in for the 2nd round of cuts also and received the Award of Merit. Velma had a good time as always.
Exciting show, lovely dogs, lots of fun with all the Chicago Club friends.

Conformation
February 2012 Indy Winter Classic: Marshview had not one, but TWO, girls finish at the shows this weekend! First, Ava competed on Thursday and went Winners Bitch for the final point to finish her championship - the 2nd pup from that litter to do so this year. Velma arrived on Friday, coming off of 2 wins in Grayslake. She was Best of Winners Friday for 2 points. Saturday her BOW was a 3 point major (her 4th major!) which completed her championship. She stretched her streak to 5 in a row on Sunday going Best of Breed her first time as a Special! Velma heads to IKC at end of February, having already sent her entry in. After that both girls will be taking it easy until they turn 2 in August! Congratulations to CH Marshview Rat Pack Romance (Helen x Pepin) and CH Marshview Quite a Mystery Girl Velma (Ruthie x Cuervo).
