Agility

12/29/13 Oshkosh.  Maliboo picked up the last leg for her AX (Exc. Standard) title this weekend, finishing with a 3rd place ribbon and a Double Q for the day.  In Excellent Jumpers, she has now qualified in all 7 of her runs, giving her 4 legs toward her MXJ title already!  For 2013, she and owner Julie have earned 6 agility titles, 2 Barn Hunt titles and a BROM.  Quite a year for this dynamic duo!

 

Barn Hunt

12/15/13  Maliboo did it again - a new Barn Hunt title!  She got her 2nd leg on Saturday with a 1st place in the Open Large class, and the 3rd leg on Sunday for her RATO title.  She had another1st place in the Large class AND was High In Trial with the fastest time in the Open classes (she found the 2 rats in 33 seconds) :-)  Now that's a working dog!  Congrats to Boo and owner Julie.

 

Puppies!

The ultrasound is done - we have puppies coming!  Velma (CH Marshview Quite The Mystery Girl Velma) is due on January 3, 2014.  The sire is Sawyer (GCH Marshview River Of The Gods), shown here at the Eukanuba National Championship show.  This will be the first litter for both.

Dec. 5-8, 2013 Wheaton/Rosemont.  Another amazing weekend for us.  At this 4 day show, Joey took Best of Breed twice, Select on the other days.  Page "Marshview XtraXtra Read All About It" and Journey "Marshview Won't Stop Believing" shared Winners Bitch/Reserve WB honors all 4 days: Page WB Thursday for her 2nd point, Best Puppy in Sweeps on Saturday, and WB/BOW/BOS on Sunday for another point.  Friday and Saturday she was Reserve Winners Bitch to Journey.  Journey picked up her 6th and 7th points Friday and Saturday going WB/BOW/BOS.  She was Reserve to Page with competition on the other days.  Great showing for these 2 puppy girls, and some great wins for Joey!

Agility-Hounds for the Holidays

Dec. 5-6, 2013.  Another great time in Milwaukee with lots of Chicago Club PWD friends.  Julie and Maliboo were competing in Excellent.  On Thursday, Maliboo got her 3rd straight Excellent Jumpers qualifying run - 3 for 3! - for her AXJ title.  Quite an accomplishment, but Julie and Maliboo were a TEAM.  On Friday, Maliboo Q'd again in Jumpers - 4 for 4! - for her first Masters leg.  What a girl!

Nov. 7-10 Kalamazoo, MI  What a weekend!  Thursday:  Blake "Marshview Uno Blake Bear" was Winners Dog for 2 points.  Combined with his 4 recent majors, Blake earned his New Champion title!




Friday: Blake's brother Joey was Best of Breed.  In addition to getting him a trip to the Group ring, it gave him enough points for a new Grand Champion title!  Icing on the cake that day was that Joey's mom Maliboo was his Best Of Opposite Sex.

Saturday: Joey Best of Breed again.  What a thrill to watch him in the Group ring a 2nd time.





Sunday: It was the girl's turn. Page was Winners Bitch from the 6-9 month class, for her 1st point!  Brother Clipper showed great as well.

Meanwhile, in Salisbury, MD, Journey picked up a 4 point major win from the 9-12 month class.  That's 5 points already for this puppy.




And finally, in Minnesota, page and Clipper's sister Chelsea was showing with her owner-handler mom Kristine and took Breed and Puppy honors.  Way to go, team Chelsea! Wish I could have been in 3 places at once.

Ft. Wayne 11/1/13 - last day.   Joey again at Best of Opposite Sex;  Blake is Best of Winners for another major!  Just needs 1 point to finish now.  Joey also short just 1 point for his Grand!

Ft. Wayne, IN  On Wednesday, Joey was Best of Opposite Sex, against 7 other Dog specials.  On Thursday he was Select Dog.  Also on Thursday, Blake went Winners Dog for his 3rd major!

October 12, 2013  Maliboo q'd today to finish her Open Jumpers With Weaves title!   She will now be competing in Excellent with her best bud, lab Loonna.

Barn Hunt/Agility

September 28, 2013  Maliboo just took up a new sport, and got two Novice Barn Hunt legs in her very first trial today with a 4th place:-).  Now if that isn't a "working-water-dog", I don't know what is!!  Way to go, Julie and Boo!

On the same day, Cuervo was with me in New Berlin doing agility. He scored a perfect 100 and garnered the 2nd place ribbon (we stayed under course time!) for his second Open Jumpers leg.  So proud of him charging the weaves today!

September 14, 2013 Sheboygan  Journey got her 1st confirmation point this weekend!  She just reached the 9-12 month class, and went Winners Bitch for her fist championship point.  This follows her Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps finish from the 6-9 month class at the MN Regional Specialty in August.  Our Journey has begun!

Sept.8. 2013 One day trial in Cudahy today. Cuervo and I took the summer off from agility, but this seemed like a good place to start up again.  He's competing in Open with Maliboo right now.   Standard was first and he and Maliboo finished 1-2: she with a perfect score 1st place and a new Open Agility title, he with a 2nd place and first OA leg.  In Jumpers, after slowly, meticulously - albeit correctly - completing the weaves, he had one refusal (still allowable), but it cost too much time and we did not Q.  Still, I was happy with his weaves and concentration - just need to work on that speed next! All in all a good day in agility.

August 11-12, 2013 Maliboo scored big at the agility trial this weekend with two Double Q's!  Two legs each toward her Open Standard and JWW titles in two days, with placements in all four runs.  What a girl!

Water trial

8/3/13 Pleasant Prairie, WI  Great weekend at the new water site!  Beautiful weather, nice conditions, fun people - and success!  Maliboo was flawless in each of the 4 Courier exercises that precede the Buoy Ball Drop.  Next year Julie will add that.  Joey - whose only been up in WI for a few weeks to train - got his Working Water Dog title on Saturday on his first attempt!  Very enthusiastic worker.

On Saturday, Hogan was very close to Apprentice and on Sunday he nailed it.  The first water title for him and Rachel, again with limited access to water this summer.

 

Last but not least, 8 month old Journey was successful on her 1st attempt at Junior Water Dog.  No photos as the photographer was the person handling!  Very proud of my little girl, and all the Marshview dogs there. 

 

Cuervo  had a 2 year old daughter named Bella there that also got her Apprentice title on Sunday with owner Midge.  Great weekend all around!

7/28/13 Wow - Joey and Maliboo were in Waukesha today and this mother-son duo took Best of Breed (Joey) and Best of Opposite Sex (Boo)!  Extra special because Maliboo was owner-handled by Julie against other pros.  Yesterday was also a good day: Joey Best of Opp and Maliboo Select Bitch.

Great breed win for Joey at 18 mos. old with other Specials present.   Congrats to Joey's owner Jan too.  Maliboo celebrated her 4th birthday between shows with a beach party: 25 dogs and 24 people! What a blast.  Apparently all that splashing, partying and birthday treats agreed with them both.

6/29/13 West Bend.  Great day for the girls today: Maliboo earned Select Bitch with Julie handling, Helen got her Rally Advanced title and 7 month old Journey qualified for her first leg in Rally Novice - and took home the 3rd place ribbon.  Way to go girls!

June 22, 2013 Cudahy Kennel Club.  Maliboo completed her Novice Jumpers With Weaves title!  Here she is showing off her first place ribbon.  Now she will join Cuervo in Open:)

May 11-12, 2013  Mother's Day weekend - Oshkosh. Maliboo earned her Novice Agility title with a 1st place finish, and picked up the 2nd leg towards her Novice Jumpers title with a 3rd place ribbon! This is after a 3 month+ hiatus, and 6 week old babies at home!!  What a girl, Maliboo:)

May 5, 2013  Jefferson, WI  The PWD Club of Chicago Supported the Entry on Sunday of this 3 day cluster, so we sent Cuervo and Joey down for the weekend.  Cuervo was Best of Opposite all 3 days.  Joey was Winners Dog x 3, going Best of Winners 2 out of 3 days for majors.  At age 15 months, he is now a Champion: CH Marshview Uh, How YOU Doin'? AWD.  He was also Best of Opposite in Puppy Sweepstakes!  We took Helen down on Sunday only for the Veteran Sweeps event. She had a great time in the ring, even got applause, and came away with the Best in Veteran Sweeps trophy!  All in all, a great weekend.

Puppies on the move-Maliboo

4-18-13 Wrestlemania.  Maliboo x Beckham babies - the "Boo-Bunnies" - at 2-1/2 weeks old.  Sorry I couldn't get the video of Gabbie's puppies posted, but there are photos of both litters on my Marshview Kennels facebook page!

Gabbie's puppies arrived March 22. We have 6 boys and 3 girls. Two of the girls are curly, as is one of the boys. Adorable!  They are thriving and moving about, and we should start to see eyes in a few days.

Maliboo's puppies arrived on Easter Sunday.  There are 8 Boo-Bunnies: 4 boys and 4 girls, including one brown one of each sex.  Very feisty bunch, over half the litter weighed nearly a pound at birth!

Indianapolis 2/7/13  Cuervo was Select Dog today in Indy, the start of a 4-day cluster.  The male who beat him went on to win Best in Show!

1/13/13 Oshkosh (cont.)  Today, Maliboo was again the Select Bitch, and Sawyer was chosen as Best of Opposite Sex!  This show also had an Amateur-Owner-Handler competition.  Barb and Sawyer were the best PWD team, and went on to a Working Group AOH 4, among 9 represented breeds!  What a sweet honor for this pair.
