Obedience/Rally

12-12-15 Oshkosh.  Three Marshview dogs competed today - Cuervo in Obedience, Margaret and Sawyer in Rally.  All 3 qualified!  For Cuervo, it was the 3rd leg - and a new title ribbon (CD).  It was a longer journey getting there than I thought it would be, but he had his best run ever today and well deserved that big title ribbon.  Very proud to be in the ring with him today.  Margaret and Sawyer both made their very first appearance in Rally today, competing right after each other and scoring 1 point apart. Great runs for these beginner dogs! Congratulations to Sawyer and Barb Stanek.

9/19/15 Announcing our newest AKC champion: Marshview's Fireball. Junie was Winners' Bitch/Best of Winners today in Sheboygan to nab the last point she needed to earn her CH.  Better yet, she was also Best of Opposite Sex - to brother Smolder, CH Marshview Great Ballz of Fire. What a great accomplishment for this brother-sister duo from the Fire litter (Maliboo x Mister), who are only 16 months old.

Water

Sept. 12-13, 2015 What a fabulous, fun weekend in Noblesville, IN despite frigid temps and a blustery breeze.  Smolder and Journey competed for Working Water Dog, Margaret for Junior and Maliboo for Courier.  In marathon runs (due to blowing and drifting articles), Smolder and Journey both passed on Saturday.  For Smolder that was 3 titles this summer: Junior at the National in August, Apprentice in August in Chicago, and now Working. Journey also just earned her Apprentice in Chicago. Just for good measure, both dogs repeated their winning performances on Sunday!  Margaret had puppy zoomies on Saturday, but was focused and energetic on Sunday.  Despite the cool weather, and waves much bigger than she's ever seen on my pond, she passed Junior Water Dog with flying colors! Nothing fazed my strong little swimmer.  Julie opted to pull Maliboo on Saturday as the weather had gotten much worse by afternoon, but the dynamic duo was on first thing Sunday morning.  Maliboo has those first 4 exercises down to a science, but is still in training for the Buoy Ball Drop.  Next year she and Smolder can work on this together!

Nosework

Sept. 5, 2015 Natalie and Marko (X litter) had another successful weekend! He passed all 4 elements with flying colors. He was consistent and focused. He showed a lot of odor obedience and now has his NW2 title!

Congratulations, Marko and Natalie.  Only 8 of the 39 dogs competing titled.

CELEBRATING!

August 21, 2015 Lake Elmo, MN Regional Specialty.  A beautiful day in MN, and a good one for the Marshview crew too!  Smolder was chosen Best in Puppy Sweepstakes; his sister Junie was the Best of Opposite Sex.  Awesome recognition honor for these kids!  Joey was Best of Breed for the 2nd year in a row, so can add MBISS before his name now.  Smolder earned an Award of Merit - great accomplishment for a 15 month old.  All these dogs are Maliboo pups, and mama herself took to the ring in the Brood Bitch competition. With sons Joey and Smolder, Maliboo was given 1st Place. Many thanks to our marvelous handlers, willing owners, and our cheering supporters there.  We love you!

Water

August 29-30 Crooked Lake, MN - PWDCTC Water Trial.  Another fabulous weekend in the water! Siblings Clipper and Chelsea (X litter) both earned their Junior Water Dog certificates on Saturday. On Sunday, half-bro Smolder got his Apprentice Water Dog title in MN, while the third X litter sibling, Page, earned hers in Colorado! Fun to see so many working dogs this summer!

NEW CHAMPION! August 7, 2015 Just home from the National Specialty, Smolder showed in Wisconsin on Friday, where he went WD/BOW and Best of Breed under judge Edd Bivin.  He is now AKC CH Marshview Great Ballz of Fire JWD!

National Specialty - Frankenmuth, MI

7/30/15 - 8/7/15 Another beautiful Specialty in a great locale! Lovely weather, lots of friends to see, and we brought home a few ribbons!  We had 3 of the 14 month old "Fire" litter puppies there - Smolder, Junie and Cinder. Smolder started the week off right by passing his Junior Water Dog test. On Monday, he was chosen Best Senior in Futurity, Tuesday took 3rd in Sweepstakes and Wednesday another 3rd in the 12-15 month class.  Very proud of this boy!
Not to be outdone, sister Junie came home with 2nd Pl ribbons in both Futurity and the 12-15 class. Cinder rounded out this lovely trio's achievements with a 3rd Pl finish in Futurity.
Their mom Maliboo also competed, garnering 2 Q's in agility, and taking home the #1 Working Bitch title for the 2nd time!  What a team she and Julie make!
Joey was the #6 PWD in 2014, so was invited to show in the Top Twenty event. What a thrill to see him strut his stuff in the ring with so many elite dogs in the breed.

Joey was also asked to participate as one of the offspring in a Stud Dog trio for his sire Drifter - CH Timber Oak's Drift Diver.  With Joey's help, and that of fellow Top Twenty dog Farrah, Drifter was named the #1 Stud Dog at the National!  So proud to see these dogs in the ring together, and thrilled for Drifter's recognition.  Great week overall!

Nosework

7/19/15 I've gotten a little behind, so let me try to catch up on Marshview news!  We now have 2 dogs with the NW1 title - the first title in Nosework, a new AKC sport where your dog has to sniff out different odors hidden in odd places.  Since the handler also doesn't know where the items are hidden, it's a real exercise in team work, learning to "read" your dog when they try to tell you they have found something.  Congratulations to Trio on earning her title this month, and belated congrats to our 1st NW1 dog, Marko, who earned his in Sept. of last year!

Obedience

6-7-15  Cuervo and Maliboo have been working in a new venue - AKC Obedience.  The Novice level requires 3 qualifying scores to receive the Companion Dog (CD) title.  This weekend, Maliboo earned a 3rd Place score on her 3rd leg to achieve the CD title!  Cuervo qualified for his 2nd leg.  Good day!

1/30-2/1/15 Chicago - IKC shows.  We sent a number of Marshview kids to this 3 day event.  Cinder, competing in the 6-9 month class, won her Sweeps class both days, and showed admirably.  Joey competed in Best of Breed and was chosen Select Dog on both Friday and Saturday, our Regional Specialty day.  His mother Maliboo competed with him as well, owner-handled as always by Julie.  One other Maliboo pup, Smolder, only came for the Regional Specialty on Saturday.  From the 6-9 mo. class (he is Cinder's brother), he was Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a 5 point major!!  His mom achieved this same feat at this same show in 2010. Like her he was also Best Puppy and went on to compete in the Puppy Working Group.  He took home a Group 4!  Very proud of Maliboo, and all these offspring.
