Obedience

12-17-16 Congratulations to Barb and her two PWDS today.  Trio (Helen x Orion) finished her Novice Obedience title (CD) with a 1st place finish.  Sawyer (Helen x Pepin) competed in Rally Advanced and earned his 1st leg with a score of 97.  Way to go!

Agility

12-10-16 Hounds for the Holidays is a 4 day agility trial in Milwaukee every December.  Maliboo went 4 for 5 in her two days of competing, getting a triple Q one day, and was 1 for 2 the other day.  After finishing his Open titles earlier this month, Smolder picked up two Excellent Jumpers With Weaves legs with 1st and 2nd place finishes, and his first Excellent Standard leg with a 1st place.

Smolder’s brother Furface was also there this year.  He and Gale usually compete in CPE (Canine Performance Events) agility, but came out for 2 days of this show.  By the end, they had earned 5 out of 6 first Place Q’s to pick up their Novice Standard and Novice FAST titles, and missed the 3rd title with one dropped bar. Maliboo and her “Fire” litter boys were smokin’ hot!

Rally

11-25-16 After a nearly year-long break, we decided to compete in Rally again.  Margaret picked up her 3rd leg - earning her Rally Novice title - and Journey got her first Q in Rally Advanced.  Better than Black Friday shopping!

Performance

Summer/fall 2016 Marshview dogs were busy in areas other than water! Smolder got his Coursing Ability title (CA-lure coursing) in August 2016, and his Rally Novice title (RN) in September.  Go Smolder and Julie!

Barb was busy with both of her Marshview dogs.  In June, Sawyer (on the right, with Trio) got his Rally Novice title.

Barb and Trio earned 2 qualifying obedience runs toward their Companion Dog (CD) title in the same weekend.  What a team!

Water 2016

Marshview had a few water titlists this year.  In August, Balooga got both his Junior Water Dog certificate (JWD) and his Apprentice Water Dog title (AWD).

Agility/Obedience

Oct. 15-16, 2016.  Two Marshview dogs reached new levels this weekend:
Smolder earned titles in both Novice Standard Agility and Novice Jumpers over the summer. In Fond du Lac this Sunday he got his first leg in Open Standard, with a 2nd Place finish!

Meanwhile, 9 year old Trio earned her first 2 legs toward her Obedience CD title, on consecutive days.  Great achievements for both these dogs and their owners.

National Specialty'16

PWDCA National Specialty, Monterey, CA September 2016. The plan was to go to the Specialty without any dogs, and just enjoy the show.  However, at the last minute, we decided to send Baby Balooga (now in the 9-12 month class).  So glad we did!  He won both the 9-23 Sweepstakes class under Ilona Griffioen-vanBeek...and the regular 9-12 class under judge Edd Bivin.

 

In addition, Ava x Mister pup Bogey was there and placed in his class as well.  Many congratulations to owner Judy James, and her daughter (and handler) Sarah Whetzel.  Altogether a fun and exciting time at the Specialty!

Conformation

August 2016 Lake Elmo.  Marshview dogs had a great outing at the PWDCTC Regional Specialty weekend in MN.  Smolder was Best of Breed with an entry of 55 dogs.

Balooga was Best in Puppy Sweepstakes, and Winners Dog for a 5 point major from the 6-9 month puppy class.



Cuervo, Best in Sweeps when HE was a puppy, came back 7 years later and was named Best Veteran.



Cuervo daughter, Skye, owned by Pam Collar, was Winners Bitch for a 5 point major and added another major on Sunday.

Maliboo, dam of both Smolder and Balooga, was Best of Opposite Sex on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, plus Best Owner Handled PWD with Julie Vanderbush. Great weekend for all!



Nose Work

5/21/16 Another NoseWork titled Marshview dog!  Today Barb Stanek and Sawyer earned the NoseWork 1 title on his first attempt, and a 3rd place finish out of 45 dogs in the vehicle search.  Great teamwork, Barb and Sawyer!

5/21/16 Big day for Marshview: Baby Balooga (Maliboo x Leo) a.k.a Marshview Whale of a Good Time was in the ring today for the very first time.  He competed in Michigan with Julie, in a 4-6 month Puppy competition, and took a Group 3!!  Across the country, Bogey (Ava x Mister) nabbed his second major, in Lynden, Washington, More news to come...

Puppies

3/1/15 Puppies have arrived!  We welcomed 12 babies in Journey's first litter - 6 males, 6 females and a mix of wavy and curly.  Hoping for some good show and performance prospects here.  She's a very calm, considerate mother, and the pups are flourishing.

Jan. 30-31, 2016 Grayslake, IL  January has been great for Smolder.  In 4 days in Novi, MI he picked up 2 Selects and 2 Best of Breed wins to earn his Grand Championship!  Fabulous for a boy who's only 20 months old.  This weekend he won BOB both days he was entered. GCH Marshview Great Ballz of Fire is smokin'!  "Fire" litter brother Win (Marshview Earth,Win and Fire)was also in Grayslake, where he went Reserve to a major 3 times, then Winners Dog/Best of Opposite Sex one day for a 4 point major!  Great showing for these young boys.

Agility

1/30-31/16 Agility.  After a 4 year hiatus while owner Rachel was busy with life, a wedding, and getting her career started, Hogan and Rachel got back in the agility ring.  On Day 1, Hogan earned his Novice Agility title (NA) and on Day 2, he got the 2nd leg toward his Novice Jumpers title.  So very happy for this dynamic duo!

CGC

1/7/16 Page, along with the help of owner Rachel Eken, can now add the letters CGC to her name (along with RN and AWD, both earned in 2015) after passing the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.  Congratulations Rachel and Page!
