National Championship

December 2017 National Championship - Orlando Smolder traveled to Florida for a fun vacation and some really stiff competition. At the Royal Canin-sponsored show, with 19 Specials present, he earned an Award Of Excellence.

Agility

November-December 2017 Margaret and I finally figured out what it takes to be a team in agility.  After struggling with confidence issues, I became her cheerleader and she blossomed.  Finished her Novice Agility title in November, and Q'd her first 2 times in Open.  At Hounds For The Holidays in December, she got her first Open Jumpers leg and finished her Open Standard title. What a fun little dog to run!

Water

August 19-20, 2017 Pleasant Prairie, WI.  The Chicago area PWD Club held their annual water trial under beautiful conditions.  Margaret and Balooga were both competing for their Working Water Dog title. Margaret was a star on Saturday and got her title.

 On Sunday, I competed again with Margaret and she again qualified!  This time Balooga and Julie qualified as well.  Two WWDs in this trial.  A very good weekend for Marshview!

August 13, 2017  The fourth puppy from our Gem litter (Journey x Blue) is now pointed in the AKC ring! Antia, with her owner Mark - a first time owner-handler, showing his first PWD at his first weekend show - was chosen Winners Bitch for her first point in Cudahy on Sunday.  Marshview Antia Strata'Gem and Mark were very poised and confident in the ring.  Congratulations to these two. I look forward to many more good things from them!

Antia's mother Journey (CH Marshview Won't Stop Believing RN CGC WWD) was Best of Opposite at the same show, and her sister Dyna (CH Marshview This Gem Glides) was on hand to cheer her on.  What a great opportunity for a family photo!

August 4-6, 2017 Salem, VA  Dyna finished her championship, with a Best of Opp win on Friday, and followed that with another BOS win on Sunday.  Dyna is the second puppy from our Gem litter (Journey x Blue) to finish.

July 20-23, 2017 Dyna scored her first major - 4 points - going Best of Opposite over a Special at the Hoosier Tire Cluster.  She followed that with a 2nd 4 point major on Saturday and a 3rd major (3 points) on Sunday.  This fabulous weekend left her needing 2 more points to finish her Championship.

July 16, 2017 Balooga (Maliboo x Leo) earned his first Qualifying run today in Standard Agility with co-owner Julie Vanderbush.  Balooga is just 18 months old.

July 2017.  Some big news from Marshview dogs!  Bogey (Romance litter Ava x Mister) earned his Championship.

Page - after delivering puppies less than 10 weeks earlier - earned her Grand Champion medal with two 4 point major Select Bitch placements at a big show.

Smolder (Fire litter Maliboo x Mister) qualified for his Silver level Grand Championship after winning Best of Breed at the PWDCGC Regional Specialty in Grayslake in June.

June 2, 2017  The Jimmy Johns litter has arrived! 9 puppies, 5 female, 4 male.  Junie is settling into motherhood nicely.

May 2017 Oshkosh.  Smolder was Best of Breed both days of this show.  A Marshview newcomer, Marshview Gem Of The Ocean "Leo"was Winners Dog both days for his first points!  Leo is the 3rd puppy from the Gem litter to be pointed.

At the PWDCGC Supported Entry, Marshview This Gem Glides "Dyna"  was Best Puppy in Sweepstakes.  In breed competition, brother Stoney was Best of Winners for a 4 pt. major and new Championship at 15 months old.

5/9/17  "Page" - CH Marshview XtraXtra Read All About It RN AWD - gave birth to 9 beautiful babies - 5 girls, and 4 boys.  Sire is "Swabby" - CH Mariner Shipshape Sebastian.

5-7-17 Another Dairyland Classic is under our belts.  Marshview dogs performed very well!  On Friday, Smolder won the breed with over 20 PWDs there.  Balooga "Marshview Whale Of A Good Time" was Winners Dog for his second major. Dyna "Marshview This Gem Glides" was Reserve Winners Bitch.

On Saturday, Smolder scored BOB again, and this time Stoney "Marshview's Uncut Gem" was Winners Dog for his third major.

On Sunday, at our Supported Entry, Dyna was Best in Puppy Sweepstakes.  Maliboo "Marshview Out Riding The Waves" was Best in Veteran Sweeps.

 Stoney got Winners Dog/Best of Winners for a 4 pt. major and new Championship! Balooga finished with Reserve Winners Dog to Stoney.  Overall, a great show and lots of fun.

Nosework

4/1/17  In St. Paul on Saturday, Trio placed first in the Level 1 Exterior Trial and won first place.   That's like high in trial in other dog sports.  The trial was capped at 35 entries.  She had 5 minutes to find 4 hides in 4 different search areas.  She found them all in 27.77 seconds!  Congratulations to Trioi and owner Barb on this accomplishment.

Marshview is proud to announce that we have 2 new Canine Good Citizens!  Leo - who just turned a year old - and Margaret,who just turned 2 this month.  Congratulations to owner Jean who is hoping to eventually do Therapy work with Leo, and to Margaret who cooperated with me this time!

3/11/17 The "Smo-jitos" have arrived  Smolder and Journey are now the proud parents of 9 beautiful black wavy PWDS - 4 males, and 5 females.  Journey is a very attentive mom, and the puppies are doing well and growing.

2-5-17 Good performance weekend for Marshview dogs - Nosework and Agility. Chelsea (Maliboo x Beckham) passed her Odor Recognition Test for 3 scents today, and Furface (Maliboo x Mister) earned his Novice Agility Jumpers title today. Good news from our youngster too - Margaret (Velma x Joey) qualified for a 2nd Novice Jumpers With Weaves leg, with a perfect 100, a fast time, and 1st place.  That's 2 Qs in 3 trials for her. Good girl!
